Why does this site exist?
Hiring someone to work on your home shouldn’t feel like a research project. This site is meant to be a simple starting point: browse by category, compare a few providers, and reach out when you’re ready.
We focus on local contractors and tradespeople because the people working in your neighborhood have a real stake in the community. Reputation matters more when you might see your customers at the grocery store or school pickup.

How does this work for contractors and Tradespeople?
Contractors post information about their company and services to one or more categories. Once approved, these listings are shown on the category page. Please note that contractor listings rotate once per day to maintain a level playing field. Listings can be unclaimed or claimed. Claimed means the business owner has access to update their listing details. [Contractors, you can add your listing for free.]
We review submissions before publishing them, but this is still a directory, not a licensing authority. Homeowners should always confirm licensing/insurance and get details in writing before hiring.
How do this work for homeowners?
Unlike other such directories, we try to provide complete contact information within a listing. So, when you find someone you like, you can just call them.
Alternatively, you can fill out a request slip and send it to up to 5 contractors. What's good about doing it this way is that you will get an email showing the contractors you sent the request to, along with their contact information.
We don’t show email addresses publicly on the site.
What happens when I send a Request Slip?
When you fill out a request slip, you can send it to up to five contractors. Your request immediately goes out to those contractors along with your contact information. If you mark your request as urgent, that will also be indicated in the note sent out to the contractors you selected.
And then we do something really amazing: we get out of the way. We just let you and your new contractor get on with the business of being you.
- We don't require all communication to go through the site
- We don't ask for a piece of each transaction
- And we definitely don't pepper you with prompts to do another project
What is My Home Team?
When you find contractors your like to work with, you can save them to your "My Home Team" page as preferred contractors and tradespeople. From that page you can send a message to your contractors with one click.
